Spatial remoteness / Distance

The Oxford English Dictionary defines distance as "the extent of time between two events; an interval, an intervening period." Some people enjoy the space between two events. The space between their families and themselves. The space between different aspects of their lives. There's a group of people who create distance between them and the ones they love. You can't ask them if they know it because they usually can't tell what they're doing. If you ask them they'd say "Why would I do that?" They think it is crazy to push someone away because you love them "How is that even possible?" "I am doing everything you asked me for." The people who do this fail to realize how they pull themselves away from the rest. They give you what you want, take as much as they want, and take a step back. Unwarranted, they put you in a game of "hot & cold" and get mad when you start to burn and demand "I, too, wish to get something out of this."
